One of the hotels in Thimphu where you can taste a wide range of authentic Bhutanese cuisine. It’s located below Royal Textile Academy (RTA) and beside a Desuung Services Centre Choego.
It’s as popular among local office-goers as it is among tourists.
They serve popular Bhutanese dishes like Ema Datshi, pork ribs paa, etc., at reasonable prices. However, they don’t serve juices.

In a country like Bhutan, where the majority of the population enjoys meat, surprisingly, I enjoyed their vegetarian dishes and drinks more than non-veg ones. Maybe it’s because the meats are cured and a bit hard.
Spinach dashi, Ema dashi was to die for. I had ordered pork and chicken, which seemed ok for me but the veg or national dishes of Bhutan are territorial.

Mostly crowded during lunchtime, because it’s very popular and the food is tasty.
The staff is very courteous and we’re sweet enough to explain almost every dish to us. It’s Bhutanese food only. We ordered a shakam (beef) paa and a datshi on the first day. Beef was dried, so very hard; but it was tasty. The second time it was chicken paa and another datshi. Every time we came out very happy. The food is excellent. They do serve complimentary buttermilk with every meal.

Best authentic Bhutanese food, comparable to or better than the National Heritage Museum. Clean and quiet. Fast and excellent service. This is our second three-month stint in Thimphu. Very happy this restaurant is still here.
