Vandana Singh Mishra | Being a travel service provider, we have regular women groups to Bhutan. Today, a small group in Thimphu chose Edelweiss for lunch. It was suggested by our guide, and the restaurant was quite full when the group landed there. The crowd was mostly western clients. The ladies wanted to have À la carte, but the serving staff insisted on choosing the buffet, displaying a pathetic attitude, as if serving the Indian clientele was a burden. This experience was very unlike Bhutanese hospitality, which has always enhanced our visits. |
Gary Brazel | Both the views and the food were excellent. Despite the restaurant’s name, the food is not at all Austrian. It’s Bhutanese cuisine. We had the buffet, but there were additional dishes brought to the table. The momos and broccoli were particularly delicious, and all the vegetables were perfectly cooked (al dente). |
